Correction log

Everything GambleLABS has got wrong, recorded permanently and never removed. A publisher that never corrects anything is not careful — it is either publishing nothing or not checking.

01Policy

How corrections work here

The rules below are the reason this log can be trusted to be complete: none of them leaves us a route to quietly remove an entry.

Permanent

A correction is never deleted, expired or archived out of view. It stays in this log for as long as the platform exists, including after the record it amends is archived.

Attached to the record

Corrections are stored against the record they amend, not in a separate notice page nobody visits. A reader arriving at the record sees the correction on it.

Never applied silently

We do not edit a published claim and move on. Where a fact changes, the record is amended and the amendment is logged here with what was originally said.

Retraction leaves the record

A retracted record is not deleted. It stays at the same address, marked as retracted, with the reason attached — so a reader who saw it, or a link that points at it, arrives at the truth.

Corrections are graded, because conflating a typographical tidy-up with a withdrawn allegation would be its own form of dishonesty. The three grades below are the only ones the record set allows, and the grade is set by an editor rather than by the person who made the error.

Retraction
A record, or a material part of it, should not have been published. The record stays in place, marked as retracted, so that anyone who read it can find out that we withdrew it.
Correction
A stated fact was wrong. The record is amended, the amendment is described here, and the original claim is quoted in the correction rather than erased.
Clarification
The facts stood, but the wording allowed a reading we did not intend or did not support. The record is tightened and the change is logged.

Found an error?

Anyone can request a correction — the subject of a record, a reader, a regulator. Tell us which record, which sentence, and what the evidence is. We will say what we are doing about it and, if we decline, why.

How to request a correction

02The log

Every correction issued

Grouped by severity, most serious first, and newest first within each group. Each entry links to the record it amends where that record has a public page.

No records published

No corrections have been issued

Nothing has been corrected, clarified or retracted. With no records published yet, that is a statement about the size of the archive rather than about the quality of the work — and it will change.

When the first correction is issued it appears here permanently, attached to the record it amends, and it is never removed from this log.
